I FINALLY used my SU! Pennant Big Shot Die to make this cute Easter Banner to hang in our Living Room.

The scallop circles are from the same Pennant Die and the Die Cut Letters are from the Serif Essentials Alphabet Set. Here is a close-up of each letter....

Mask Project

Last weekend my daughter had to make a mask for a Romeo & Juliet Feast in her class. After a trip to Michael's for the plastic mask, we rumaged through some of my Stampin' Up! goodies...

Theater

Here's what she came up with...

She painted the mask a turquoise blue. Once it dried, working in small areas, she applied Crystal Effects and then covered with Clear Micro Beads. It really gave the mask a cool texture...and when you take a picture using the flash, it gives off a reflection...

She then chose of few flowers from the Pretties Kit and colors them using markers and Aqua Painters. A clear rinestone brad through the flowers to hold them together, then she adhered it using the Hot Glue Gun. At Michael's, she also found some rinestone stickers & feathers, and she applied them using the Hot Glue Gun as well.

She didn't like the look of the white elastic band around the back of her head, so we tied on two pieces of the Retired Wild Wasabi Stitched Ribbon...they tie together once she has the mask on.

The really awesome thing is, she also needs a mask for a dance she is doing for her Dance Performance...Now she'll get to use it twice!

Just shows how some of our wonderful SU! accessories have some many more uses than just Card-making and Scrapbooking!

Organizing Your Card Stock Scraps

We all have the problem of not wanting to throw-away scrap pieces of CS....but what can you do with them? ...other than throw them in a box or envelope to go through later...

Perturbed

Well, yesterday I came up with my solution...and I hope it can help you as well.

I recently bought a photo storage box at Target that was on clearance..I got it for only $2! To brighten it up a bit, I took some leftover Afternoon Tea DSP and covered the box and lid using Modge Podge. I then put Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain and Wild Wasabi Double-Stitched ribbon around the box with Sticky Strip. The "SCRAPS" label was made using my Dymo Label Maker...love that thing..

Here's the finished box...

Here is the inside of the box...

I made the dividers using 5" x 8" Index Cards...unfortunately, my local office supply store only had colored Index Cards. I cut the Index Cards down to 3 7/8" x 7 5/8" so they would fit inside the box and still leave room for the tabs to clear the lid.

To make the tabs, I used my Rounded Tab Punch. I punched out each tab using that particualar color, to make for easy filing. That way when I have a scrap of Pixie Pink, for example, I will be able to check the color to the name before filing it. I attached the tabs to the Index Cards using snail adhesive.

I hand-wrote the color name on each tab and put them in order of color families....starting with Neutrals, 07-08 In Colors, Bold Brights, Earth Elements, Rich Regals, and Soft Subtles. I will of course make new tabs for the 08-09 In Colors once I receive the CS.

Here is a close-up of the dividers with my scraps filed...

As you can see I don't have enough scraps to fill the entire box. That is mainly because I only keep CS scraps that I could punch a 1" circle out of. Any smaller, I find it doesn't get used. *Although, when it comes to DSP, I do keep small strips....you can always add a strip to a card in place of ribbon.* Winky

Card Stock: Afternoon Tes DSP, Scraps of every CS color for Tabs
Accessories: Chocolate Chip 5/8" Grosgrain ribbon, Wild Wasabi Double-Stitched ribbon, Sticky Strip, Rounded Tab Punch
Non-Su! Accesssories: 5" x 8" Index Cards, Modge Podge, Dymo Label Maker

I hope you can now make your CS scraps more easily acessible. They really come in handy!
I can't believe tomorrow is already the 4th of July! Flag Wave

Ginger Blossom Purse Card

This was the swap I made for this past weekend's Demo meeting at Linda's. I had so much fun making this one. It's it cute? It's a purse made from punches!!

I will be sad to see the Ginger Blossom DSP retire, but I thought I might as well start using up what I have left...which is a lot....lol

I used the 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" Square Punches to make the bottom of the purse. Then the 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" Circle Punches, folded in half to make the top. I finished it with a Fire Square Rhinestone brad and the River Rock Double-Stitched ribbon handle. Here is a close-up...

Couldn't you see this as a Bridal Shower invitation? Or as a Purse Party invite? So many possibilities...

Stamp Sets: Warm Words
Card Stock: River Rock, Ruby Red, Very Vanilla, Ginger Blossom DSP
Inks: Purely Pomegrante pad
Accessories: 1 3/8" Square Punch, 1 1/4" Square Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1/16" Circle Punch, Fire Square Rhinestone brad, River Rock Double-Stitched ribbon, Dimentionals

Well, I ended up winning first place in the Swap contest! Yea! Here are the goodies I won....
Bounce

Shelly Whelen made them all. Aren't they cute? It's 2 file folders cover with Bali Breeze DSP, a Notepad covered with Bali Breeze DSP, and a clip wrapped in Flowers For You DSP.

The "Celebrate" on the Notepad is stamped directly onto the 5/8" grosgrain Old Olive ribbon! You can do this by either using Craft or Stazon ink.

I was so excited I won! Thanks, Shelly for the awesome prizes!

Have a fabulous day! Bubble Bath
